Mission Statement

Children of the Ligonier Valley School District will be provided comprehensive educational opportunities in safe and supportive environments to maximize individual potential.

The Board of Education will meet at 5:00 P.M., on August 14, 2017, in the Ligonier Valley High School auditorium for a planning session.  A business meeting will follow at 6:00 P.M.
Many school districts in Pennsylvania have difficulty maintaining an adequate roster of certified substitute teachers to meet their daily need.  Our district is no exception.  Therefore, we have implemented an emergency substitute teacher program to address this problem.  The Ligonier Valley School District will conduct an emergency substitute teacher training on July 25, in the Ligonier Valley Middle School library, at 8:30 A.M.  You must have a bachelor's degree to be eligible.  To register for this training, please contact Marjy Grace, at 724-238-5696.
Immunization requirements for school attendance have changed for the 2017-18 school year.  The school nurses contacted parents regarding the changes throughout the 2016-17 school year.  If your child is not compliant, he/she may not attend the first day of school.  Please click on the link to review the requirements from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
