School Security Personnel
Meet our School Security Personnel, Officer Shawn Knepper and Officer Sam Grimm. Ligonier Valley School District is pleased to have these two fine officers with us to help keep our schools safe.
School Resource Officer
Officer Shawn Knepper is a Ligonier Valley Police Officer trained as a School Resource Officer by the National Association of School Resource Officers. The collaboration between LVSD and LVPD was to choose an officer to be woven into the Ram community to provide enhanced safety but also to bridge the gap between the youth in the valley and the law enforcement community by becoming an informal mentor, teacher, and role model.

School Security Officer
Officer Sam Grimm is our School Security Officer at Laurel Valley Elementary School. He served 23 years with the Pennsylvania State Police as a patrol trooper, field training officer, firearms instructor and collision investigation including reconstruction. Officer Sam was also a first responder most of his life. He volunteered with Saltlick Twp VFD as an EMT and as a paramedic for ten years.
