Advanced Placement Options

Students who choose a schedule that includes a blended learning environment will be able to select from five Advanced Placement courses.


Music and Drama

Ligonier Valley students participate in a variety of music and drama programs including our marching band, concert band, chorus, the school play and musical and theatre group.


Career and Technical Programs

Through a partnership with the Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center, students have the opportunity to develop quality career skills to meet the changing needs of business and industry through sixteen technology and industry-based programs. Students also have the ability to obtain nationally recognized certifications in various programs.


Dual Enrollment/ College in The High School

In partnership with Penn Highlands Community College, the University of Pittsburgh, St. Francis University, and Mt. Aloysius College, Ligonier Valley School District offers students the ability to earn several college credits while still in high school at a minimal cost.



In partnership with the US Air Force, students can participate in the AFJROTC program. During this experience students build leadership skills while participating in service activities within the school as well as the community.


Guidance Services

Students and families will be able to take advantage of career and college planning by participating in assemblies, programs, career and scheduling fairs, onsite visits from college and university representatives and from military personnel.
