Paid Coaches

All coaches must submit a letter of intention EVERY YEAR via email to the Athletic Director (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)).  The letter is then approved by the Building Principal and then sent for vote on the school board agenda.  Board Meeting dates are posted in the School Board section of this website.  The meetings are typically the 2nd Monday of every month.

Clearances

Must Complete an ACT 168 form from their current employer, and any former employer related to education/involving direct contact with children

Coaching Education Information Effective July 1, 2016, all Coaches at a PIAA member school are required to complete two core courses, Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health and Safety. Courses are being offered either through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) titled Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health and Safety or the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) titled Sport First Aid and Coaching Principles. Courses are available online and can be accessed through the PIAA website (http://www.piaa.org). PIAA will also be accepting college level courses of either the coaching and/or first aid requirements. Please note that once completed each coach must upload their certifications to the PIAA website by creating a Coach profile. Directions for creating a profile can also be found on the PIAA website. If you have any questions about the coaching education requirements please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). *Note: All coaches currently employed or engaged in a PIAA member school must complete two courses as provided above no later than June 30, 2018. Coaches hired after July 1, 2016 will have two years from their date of hire to complete this requirement.

 

In addition to the clearances and coaching course certifications, all paid coaches need to submit the following in order to be issued the Supplemental Pay:

Physical (completed within the past two years)

TB Shot Record (completed within the past two years)

I9 with Social Security Card and Driver’s License

W4
